When we turn sixteen and start driving the entire world opens up to us. We can go out with our friends, we can go to work and school and we are given our independence. When we start out we are really excited and nothing can knock us down. However, there are some things that we really don’t think of when we have a vehicle. One of the things that can occur is our vehicles will stop working. When this happens, we start to panic.
The main question we need to ask, is what can we do when the vehicle won’t start? The answer of course can vary from car to car from problem to problem, but here are a few things you can look at.
Have a cell phone
No matter where you go, make sure that you have a cell phone and that your battery is fully charged. The last thing you want to have happen is be lost or having car issues and your phone die. When you have a cell phone, you can easily go in and call for assistance from a friend, family member or service.
Know how to push your car to the side of the road
You want to put your car in neutral and push it while steering your car. If you have someone with you that can help push or steer, that is going to be a benefit. You will also want to hit your emergency flasher on your car so that people can see you while driving.
Lift your hood
The universal signal for distress is having your hood open on the car. When people see this, they can pull over and give you assistance if possible. It will also help emergency responders to locate you as well.
